Big Day of Play

This annual event is put on by Seattle Parks and Recreation and the ‘Get Moving’ initiative. It is hosted in South Seattle and has been going on for many years.

There is traditionally a complex marketing plan used for this event that includes poster/flyer distribution, social media, targeted ads, and print advertising. The goal of the event is to create a welcoming invitation to people of all backgrounds so they can gather together for a day full of active fun. The real challenge in marketing this event is finding ways to reach so many people where they’re at.
